The Tale of The Lone Linker

Well I've decided to put this story into its own topic, so my updates to it aren't limited to maintenance days
In case you don't usually check the Maintenance Chat topic, I've started to tell the story of how I came to be in this guild in rhyme form.

'Twas just a bit over two months ago,
Oh! it feels like a life time to me...
When the one who saw all as foe
Found them, my second family...


Everyone was questing back then
For experience and the horned hat.
All wanted it, both women and men
Except for me, I was done with that.

"A TU Priest, this must be what I need"
With an Acolyte I went to the dark place,
Alone again as always, I took the lead,
To power level on the edge of disgrace...

I remember it was hard at first...
But one by one the zombie fell,
And my power rose, to all unbeknownst,
Once or twice I too, was thrown to hell...

Fast did brave Purificatore grew
'Till even the shackled zombies
Granted experience too few
To be glimpsed by mortal eyes

I didn't give up however
For there was nothing else to do
But on my spot there was an intruder
Staring at him I thought "go away, shoo!"

He stared back at me, curiously
"What is an Aco doing here, all alone?"
"Another quester!", I mumbled crossly
"Why peaceful solitude, can't I own?"

He awaited, sitting on his ride
A Peco, its feathers with colors many
A knight he was, strength his pride
Failures few, victories plenty

Finally I gave him an answer
“I’m doing some leveling here”
“Using my power as a healer”
“To let these undead know true fear”

“What are you here for?”
“Trying to get yourself a crown”
“Yes, I just have to wait some more”
“For yet some time unknown…”

“They are late, those three”
“Leveling here alone can be tough…”
“Do you want to join our party?”
It was hard for me not to laugh

For ages I was ignored by all
I get an Aco and everybody is my friend
People are so predictable and dull…
Ok I’ll play along ‘till the end

In case you didn't notice I was kinda of a douche back then...
To much time alone can make someone bitter and untrusting I guess
As soon as I get something new I will post it, it is a bit hard to rhyme in a foreign language though

“Sure why not?” I said with a blank smile
And thus did Purificatore get his invite
“I guess we still have to wait a while?”
“If you don’t mind, some zombies I’ll fight”

So more heal bombs were used
With Saito covering my back
After a bit they finally arrived
The new comers I did check

Two guys and a girl they were
I wondered if they weren’t three guys
Female Priests can be such a nightmare
A lot of crossdressers these days…

They approached Saito, as always I felt left out
Both of the guys already left us
From my memories your names I’ll shout
Stratosoul, the white haired magus

Caster of spells and survivor of quakes
And Substr the peerless hunter
Whose swift double strafes makes
All parties damage greater

Stratosoul said his goodbyes
While Substr I’m not sure
But whatever in their destiny lies
They’ll be remembered forever more

And of course there was the third one
Oh! Was I mistaken about her
Sabel her name, of all the most humane
To all of us she’s like a mother

Between them pleasantries were traded
Afterwards it was time to move on
On the next floor stronger foes awaited
Other battles to be won

Phendarks were the target I believe
Even though Strato and Sub were feeble
Sabel’s heal spells brought them relieve
Through bravery, to defeat them they were able

As always I was the sore thumb
My skills were weak, my body frail
I felt inadequate, a little dumb
A master in the art of fail

Once, twice, thrice my body fell
Sabel being her kind self, rezed this weak fool
But in my heart, a pool of shame swell
The level difference was far too cruel

“It ends now”, I thought after the fourth
To fight if not as equals, at least with fortitude
My proudest creation I would bring forth
Created for the perpetuation of my solitude

A character that needed no others
Created in my warped image
I fooled myself in such matters
When in truth I was a child with no courage

Immortal Soul he once was
Back when I had no dagger or book
With no weapons he fought as
The Taekwons whose skills he took

When I finally got the blade of legend
The dagger of endless criticals
Immortal Soul found his end
And crossed over to the land of immortals

From the ashes Eternal Soul was born
By this name I would be most known
The old Soul, I did not mourn
For the new the old would own

“Please don’t rez me, if u don’t mind”
“This is not working, I’ll bring my main”
“Better than my Aco, the new guy you’ll find”
“This party, a great addition will gain”

After getting the ok, I logged out
With Eternal I sprinted as fast as I could
Anxious to fight another bout
For some reason I was in a better mood

In Glast Heim over walls I leapt
At my power I would make all glare
Make them glad I was kept
But why the heck did I care?

When I got there they were hard to find
But a true Linker fears nothing
To danger they turn my eyes blind
For they are masters of self-healing

After I found them I was reinvited
But I could feel their mistrust
Or perhaps the all thing I imagined?
“To show off my skills I must!”

I thought with arduous fervor
My Kaahi, Mild Wind and Kaizel were cast
With my holy blade I struck with honor
The shameful memories were now past

Wow, this was a big post, I hope it didn't scare ppl away
This was indeed a fruitful day for my Tale
To all those that are reading this I thank you, and I would ask of the guildies that have English as their native tongue to warn me if they check some grammar trouble, my English is still far from perfect...

I LOVE IT!

Even though the Phendark were neutral
I was not alone, all of us did our stuff
With might both physical and magical
Soon we had killed more than enough

To the next monster on the list we went
Even if I didn’t need to do it
I was compelled, to them my help lent
“I’ll be with them for just a bit”

Next were the sewers, Anolians breeding ground
They hit hard, but against wind they’re weak
Anolians didn’t take long, by bloodlust we were bound
Soon with their blood the ground was slick

The time had come to leave this place
Dreaded the fate of the next set of monsters
Those too, bravely we would face
To reach the new place, we had to cross more sewers

When we reached the entrance however
A message from another guildie they got
The wait seemed to take forever
I patiently waited while talking to this lot

Fury’s target and their were now the same
Another guildie to join the fray
But something happened before he came
That would change me until this day

We were still standing by the entrance
I was actually having fun by now
With other people I never thought I had a chance
I was happy and I didn’t care how

At the entrance of the endless stairway
It finally happened, the core of this Tale
I have no idea why she did it, even today
Why she invited this Linker male

Could she feel my loneliness?
Did she find my critical amusing?
Or was it sheer Sabel randomness?
It doesn’t matter, to her I owe everything…

Through days both joyful and sad
Trabis’ guildies were there with me, for sure
To be on this guild will make me forever glad
This Linker is alone no more…

Ok ppl this is the end of The Tale of the Lone Linker... To everybody who liked reading it and gave me their support I thank you
This was kind of hard to write since I'm not much of an art type of person, nor I'm an English pro, but I can't help but feel a bit proud of this endeavor
The bad thing about having it finished is that I have to find something to do at work
